Veteran Spouse, April 2010

Finally! There was an answer to my many years of questioning what and why he changed. I/we now have a better understanding of what is going on and the door has been opened to be receptive to each other.

This has been a terrific eye opening week. I’ve made breakthroughs in thinking, learned new techniques for handling my PTS and learned new skills for relating as a couple. I highly recommend these retreats for any veterans affected by PTS.

Veteran Partner, April 2010

I am a partner to a Vietnam veteran and we were participants in the Retreat in Angel Fire, New Mexico. When I first got here, I had no understanding of the disease PTS and that there were so many veterans and their partners suffering in silence because of this disease. This retreat helped me to understand my partner’s anger episodes and taught me different ways to help him get through it… and help me get through it. This disease is so strong and overwhelming, it is a comfort to know that there are people out there that are willing to help us out. This retreat helped us to open up and face our fears.

I feel I have a new family now. I really appreciate you. I want to thank everyone for everything. It really helped me open up too. I want to thank everyone. It was a fun week. I learned a lot from everyone: counselors and the whole community. Deep inside I feel so relieved. There were so many things I put my wife through so much and now because of what I have experienced at this retreat, I can forgive myself.
