Winterfest showcases Angel Fire Resort’s mountain with 80 runs, 3 terrain parks, gladed tree runs & nighttime skiing. The festival offers deep discounts for accommodations, rental equipment, lift tickets and ski & snowboard lessons.

Military Winterfest offers regular group lessons and features a unique Vet2Vet program that offers lessons for vets, by vets. When possible, veterans taking any lessons will be paired with a veteran instructor!
“We have highly skilled ski and snowboard instructors who also have served in the Army, Air Force and Marines,” said Robin May, director of the Angel Fire Ski & Snowboard School. “Our veteran instructor team is ready to teach their fellow vets on a peer-to-peer basis. They have a unique perspective having served our country and teaching a sport that they love.”
Military Winterfest registrants will get exclusive discounts for group lessons, lift tickets & equipment. Lesson reservations for every age & ability level are highly recommended! Book lessons no later than 48 hours before arriving. After booking lessons, meet in front of the Ski & Snowboard School sign NLT 9:45 a.m. or 1:45 p.m. READY TO GO.

Adaptive Sports
Adaptive skiing & snowboarding uses specialized equipment and/or training to allow people (with injuries or disabilities) to experience these awesome snow sports. Skiing & snowboarding provide a sense of freedom many vets don’t find in other activities. Both sports are great for vets with physical disabilities or visual impairments to help to develop balance, fitness, confidence, motivation & social skills.
If you are a vet with special needs, Veteran Adaptive sessions require 2 weeks advanced registration so that the Angel Fire Ski & Snowboard School may secure appropriate adaptive sports equipment & certified instructors. After you’ve booked an Adaptive Session, be at the Ski & Snowboard Schools sign NLT 15 minutes before your lesson READY TO GO!
Snowshoeing
You can rent snowshoes for 50% off at Angel Fire Resort. But DO get them well in advance of the hike!
The ski and snowboard race is open to military members only, not family members at this time.
The Interservice Olympics is open to ALL registrants, participants will represent the Service of their military member

What’s a little good-humored competition among our services? Well, find out if its Army, Air Force, USMC, Navy or the Coast Guard that has what it takes to earn the coveted “Golden Ski!”
Skiers & boarders will follow NASTAR Rules for a fun afternoon atop Exhibition racecourse. An award ceremony follows.
In 2017, Air Force rocked the course earning the coveted “Golden Ski!” In 2016, Army & Air Force TIED for 1st Place. While USMC came in last earning The Boot!
Skiers & shredders – at ALL experience levels – sign up & then join us atop Exhibition racecourse. Maneuver a course marked by closely spaced gates. Winners are determined by the lowest combined time in 2 runs. An award ceremony follows at 12:30 p.m. on Top Deck.
Don’t forget the Interservice Olympics!
Compete for the Silver Snowshoe in tubing races, snowman building, snowshoe volleyball, selfie scavenger hunt and more!
