We have had funding challenges and now must work extra hard for our Veteran and Military Families as we currently have a large “wait list” of couples who need our help! Grant funding has not kept up with the demand nor have private donations. We honor all that have provided help in the past for their gifts. Thanks to all of you, we have helped hundreds of couples, but thousands are returning home and need our help. Please consider providing a couple with the tools they need during one of our retreats. You will not be sorry!

At our first National Veterans Wellness and Healing Center retreat in 2011 (April 2011) we were fortunate to have Part 2 Pictures, a documentary film company attend the retreat and film one of our participating couples in their journey through the retreat. This was hosted by Lisa Ling of the Our America television series on the Oprah Winfrey Network

This program continues to air on OWN Network and on the Military Channel.

Seven Steps to Hell and Back is the story of a combat veteran’s Death Wish journey and how he struggled to survive in a civilian world. Author Frank E Wiggins, with Etta Cavalier (a former retreat participant), goes back in time to the Cold War while he was stationed in Germany during 1958 to 1959. To this day, Frank is still reliving the trauma that climaxed with his seventh mission involving clearing mine fields between the east and west German borders.

Candace Green has commented on the book, “Frank Wiggins has done an excellent job of describing PTS and what it can do to a person! After reading this book, I feel as if I know him. His conversations with his son lead us into the family system where PTS is held, opening up the cocoon. Stunning! It really brings it home to all of us. No more secrets and shame that hold the “IT” of PTS in place.”

Frank Wiggins has designated $1 from the sale of each book that is purchased through the book’s website. To find out more about this fascinating veteran, and to purchase the book, go to: www.sevenstepstohell.com/angelfire.
